The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande

The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a vineyard located in the Pauillac region, on the left bank of the Gironde. It was founded in the 17th century by Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan, and was divided into two chateaus in the 19th century: Pichon Longueville Baron and Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. Today, the estate is run by the Rouzaud family, also owners of the champagne house Louis Roederer.

Wine description

The RESERVE DE LA COMTESSE is one of the wines produced by the Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, which is known for the quality of its wines. This wine is made from a blend of noble grapes, with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. These grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted to keep only the best fruits.

The vinification is done in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, to preserve the aromas and flavors of the wine. The RESERVE DE LA COMTESSE is then aged in oak barrels for 16 months, with 50% new barrels.
