Moulin de Duhart: A Softer Side of Pauillac Grand Cru
As the second wine of Fourth Growth Château Duhart-Milon, Moulin de Duhart presents an elegant, early-drinking expression of the legendary Pauillac terroir. It is meticulously blended from the younger vineyard parcels, offering a remarkable introduction to the DBR (Lafite) style: structured yet charmingly supple.
Tasting Notes & Style
The wine displays a deep, dark colour. Expect an expressive bouquet of fresh cherries and black fruit, complemented by classic Médoc notes of tobacco leaf, Chinese five spice, and a trace of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with an immediate, delicate silkiness. The tannins are smooth and well-integrated, supported by a bright acidity that ensures excellent balance and a long, harmonious finish. It’s a sophisticated red that doesn't demand decades of cellaring.
Food Pairing & Serving
This Pauillac is perfect for a refined Sunday lunch. Decant for an hour before serving at 17°C.
- Sunday Roast: Traditional Roast Beef with all the trimmings (Yorkshire Puddings).
- Classic pairing: Herb-crusted Rack of Lamb.
- Cheese Course: Mature Cheddar and Stilton.
