Château Picque Caillou is one of the last great vineyards situated right on the edge of Bordeaux city, deep within the esteemed Pessac-Léognan appellation. This superior Claret is a perfect expression of its unique Graves terroir, delivering a distinctive minerality and remarkable finesse. A superb addition to any serious UK cellar.

Tasting Notes (Claret)

Crafted from a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, this wine is matured in French oak, ensuring a seamless and elegant profile.

• Colour: Deep, brilliant garnet.
• Nose: Intense and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and cedar, complemented by subtle notes of pencil lead, fine tobacco, and the hallmark smoky minerality of Graves.
• Palate: The attack is firm, leading to a smooth and expansive mid-palate. The tannins are fine, ripe, and beautifully polished. The finish is long, fresh, and complex, a true testament to its noble origin.

Pairing & Service

To maximise enjoyment of this Pessac-Léognan, serve at 16°C-18°C. We strongly recommend decanting for up to an hour for younger bottles.

• Classic Dishes: Classic Roast Lamb with Rosemary and Garlic, Beef Wellington, Traditional Game Pie.
