Château Lynsolence: A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru of Rare Opulence

From the esteemed Denis Barraud, Château Lynsolence is a spectacular example of a modern, highly concentrated Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. Unusually, this wine is a 100% Merlot creation, showcasing the varietal's capacity for depth and silky texture when grown on the finest gravel-sand soils. The wine’s profound character is further enhanced by its maturation exclusively in new French oak barrels, a signature of its luxurious style.

    Tasting Profile & Provenance

    • Appearance: A striking, deep garnet hue.
    • Aroma: Rich and complex, with dominant notes of stewed blackcurrant and plum jam, beautifully interwoven with hints of mocha, vanilla pod, and fine tobacco leaf.
    • Mouthfeel: Full and generous, with a magnificent structure defined by powerful, yet beautifully integrated tannins. The finish is sustained and deeply flavoured, promising excellent development in the cellar.

    Food Matching & Decanting Advice

To fully appreciate its complexity, this Grand Cru should be served at cellar temperature (around 17°C) and ideally decanted for a minimum of two hours. It is the perfect centrepiece for a celebratory meal.

    • Food Matches: Traditional Roast Lamb with Rosemary and Garlic, Game Pie (Venison or Partridge), or Tournedos Rossini.
    • Ageing: A wine with significant cellaring potential, best enjoyed after 8-10 years.
