Château Larmande: A Grand Cru Classé of Historic Pedigree

Château Larmande, one of Saint-Émilion's oldest properties with records dating back to 1585, epitomises the classic elegance of the Right Bank. Grown on 20 hectares of privileged clay-limestone and siliceous clay soils, this wine is a true reflection of its Grand Cru Classé status.

The estate’s commitment to quality is evident in its meticulous vinification, which includes maturation in French oak barrels and a portion in terracotta amphorae (since 2018). This process delivers a wine of remarkable precision, softening the texture while maintaining the purity of the Merlot-dominant blend.

    Tasting Notes

    • Colour: Deep, brilliant red-violet.
    • Nose: Fresh and complex, featuring spicy notes alongside rich aromas of dark fruits (blackcurrant, plum) and sweet hints of vanilla and cocoa.
    • Palate: Beautifully balanced with melted, creamy tannins and exceptional elegance. The mouthfeel is supple, offering lingering flavours of concentrated red fruit and dark chocolate. A long, refined finish.

    Food Pairing & Serving

Best served slightly below room temperature at 17-18°C. This wine is built for the cellar and will evolve beautifully.

    • Pairings: Slow-cooked Lamb Shanks with Rosemary, Roast Beef with all the trimmings, Game Pie, Mature Cheddar Cheese.
    • Cellaring Potential: Excellent for laying down; expect peak enjoyment between 10 and 15+ years.
