Tasting Notes

The nose is highly expressive, unfolding with layers of deep black fruit-cassis, blackberry-and a distinct violet perfume. Nuances of fine cedar, cigar box, and wet stone provide classic complexity. The palate is supremely refined; it is full-bodied yet light on its feet, thanks to the hallmark Margaux texture. The tannins are velvety and precise, leading to an extremely long, perfumed, and elegant finish. A true claret of distinction.

Food Pairing & Serving

• Serving Temperature: 17-18°C. Decanting for two hours is highly recommended to allow the wine to fully open up.
• Longevity: While enjoyable in its youth, this wine will reward cellaring for 15 to 30 years, developing wonderful tertiary notes.
• Food Pairing: Traditionally superb with game. Try it with Roast Venison Haunch with a juniper jus, Beef Wellington, or a matured cheese board featuring aged Cheddar.
