Château de Ferrand is a historic Grand Cru Classé estate located on the elevated clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Hippolyte. This wine epitomises the classic elegance of Saint-Émilion, marrying the plush, generous nature of Merlot with the tannic backbone and freshness of Cabernet Franc. The estate is committed to sustainable practices and is now certified Organic.

Tasting Notes (Classic Vintage)

• Colour: A deep, vibrant ruby red with garnet hues.
• Nose: Elegant and layered. Expect concentrated aromas of dark berries (mulberry, blackcurrant), developing into complex notes of forest floor, cedar, and fine spice from its time in French oak.
• Palate: Smooth and full on the attack, leading to a rich, velvety mid-palate. The tannins are refined and perfectly integrated, ensuring a beautiful, structured mouthfeel. The finish is long, fresh, and exceptionally persistent.

Pairing & Service

A true classic Claret, this wine demands a sophisticated food pairing. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F). For younger vintages, a good decant (1-2 hours) will significantly enhance the drinking experience.
