A Masterpiece from Spain’s Powerhouse DO: Toro

Crafted by the renowned team at Bodega Burdigala (Michel Rolland & François Lurton), the Campo Alegre Toro Red is a formidable Spanish wine from the prestigious Toro Designation of Origin. Made exclusively from the Tinta de Toro grape (local Tempranillo), this cuvée offers the deep concentration and structure for which the region is famed, presented with a Bordeaux-inspired polish.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Intense, deep ruby-garnet.
• Aroma: Highly aromatic, with a core of ripe blackcurrant and plum, seamlessly integrated with complex notes of cedar, mocha, and toasted spice from its time in new French oak.
• Flavour: Full and generous on the palate. The structure is built around firm, yet silky, tannins and a dense core of dark berry fruit. It finishes long and dry with hints of licorice and a refreshing minerality, reflecting the high-altitude terroir of Castilla y León.

Food Pairing & Decanting

This wine is a superb match for classic British roasts and rich game dishes. We recommend decanting this powerful red for at least an hour before serving at a temperature of 16-18°C (61-64°F) to allow its complex aromas to fully blossom.
